General Manager

Growing b2b security solutions manufacturer is looking to add a General Manager to their team. Ideal candidate will have at least 8
years of operations experience as well as a background in sales/business development. This person will report directly to the CEO. The organization is under $10 million and 25 employees, so it is a very hands on role. Candidate should be comfortable and experienced working in a small but growing organization.
oPrevious experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
oPrevious experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
oPrevious experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
oDemonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
oDemonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
oDemonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.
oStrong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
oExcellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
oExcellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.

This key leader is responsible for the daily operations of the manufacturing plant ensuring that all goals and objectives are met. The Plant Manager is both an operational leader and role model for their staff ensuring that the site and their teams operate in a highly productive and safe manner, continually working to exceed goals and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

oManage and supervise all plant operations ensuring that the highest level of productivity, safety and quality are maintained at all times
oDevelop and foster effective and productive teams using ongoing performance management.
oEnsure that continual process improvement is practiced through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools and activities
oSet goals and plan a course of action for the plant. Have a vision of the plant's future.
Productivity


oEnsure the accurate accounting of all inventories and closely monitor any deviations from the estimated inventory.
oSupport and enforce the use of the functional organization and enforce the use of operating policies and procedures.
oProactively identify challenges and operational issues in the plant and develop solutions
oGenerates monthly work-in progress report and adjust job cost estimates as necessary
oMonitor plant overhead expenses and improve financial performance by using Lean Tools and Performance Management to reduce labor hours, overtime and operating budgets

Safety

oCommunicate and endorse the company safety program through regularly scheduled meetings
oInitiate and embrace a safety culture where all employees feel comfortable communicating safety concerns.

Quality

oEnsure that all quality problems are acted upon and the results are being monitored
oFoster the Lean Manufacturing environment to continually manage and improve the plant's quality
oTrain staff to look for and report quality issues in all phases of product life at plant, i.e. form setting, pouring, curing, finishing, storage, loading, shipping.
Sales
Work with existing customers to increase business, direct and manage the sales team, help them obtain goals and create new business opportunities.
Performance Management

oDelegate tasks to members of the management team and monitor the delegated tasks. Give supervisors the authority to accomplish the tasks.
oFoster a workforce focused on a high level of teamwork, productivity, safety and performance using the Performance Management process
oImprove people management by setting goals, action plans and holding people accountable
oMake key personnel decisions including but not limited to hiring, promotion, team building, coaching, discipline, and termination.
oEvaluate the performance of direct reports and review their evaluations of their subordinates at least annually.
oMaintain a workforce that is compliant with company policies regarding equal employment opportunity and does not tolerate discrimination and/or workplace harassment.
oEnsure that all employees read, understand and sign their job description or duties list.
oEnsure the coordination of efforts between departments.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
